Learning styles M3

Learning styles
Auditory Learners - often talk to themselves. They also may move their lips and read out loud. They may have difficulty with reading and writing tasks. They often do better talking to a colleague or a tape recorder and hearing what was said. I personally find this effective when counting or doing difficult calculations in my head as it helps me concentrate. I also think this is helpful when trying to do more than one thing. I personally do not feel many people can learn simply by listening and would need to take notes in some form in order for it stick.
Kinaesthetic Learners - do best while touching and moving. It also has two sub-channels: kinaesthetic (movement) and tactile (touch). They tend to lose concentration if there is little or no external stimulation or movement. When listening to lectures they may want to take notes for the sake of moving their hands. When reading, they like to scan the material first, and then focus in on the details (get the big picture first). They typically use colour high lighters and take notes by drawing pictures, diagrams, or doodling. To integrate this style into the learning environment: I found this helpful mostly when presenting work or in group work. Personally I would not consider myself a kinaesthetic learner as I feel I work better on my own and can find being active and working in a group distracting. However I this could be very helpful for younger learners as it keeps active and it may also work for students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia as they find reading and writing difficult.
Visual learners - can be divided into two types linguistic and spatial. Linguistic learners like to learn through written language, such as reading and writing tasks. They remember what has been written down, even if they do not read it more than once. They like to write down directions and pay better attention to lectures if they watch them. Spatial Learners usually have difficulty with the written language and do better with charts, demonstrations, videos, and other visual materials. They easily visualize faces and places by using their imagination and seldom get lost in new surroundings. To integrate this style into the learning environment. i personally would consider myself a linguistic and spatial learner as I find that its more independent to be given a task and to find your own way of overcoming it.
i Personally prefer to use visual leraning styles more specifically spatial and linguistic as i feel having he independants to get on with a piece of work and figure things out for myself i also feel that doing something yourself allows it to stick i also feel that i learn much better writing things down over and over again.
